Hogansville Georgia Attractions
Key West Inn's Newest Location . . . Will be taking reservations on July 25, 2008
Located less than an hour away from the big city of Atlanta, you will find the charming and historic community of Hogansville Georgia. Our community, known as "The City of Friendly People" is proud of its history and offers locals and visitors a talented community of arts. While visiting here you can enjoy the historic downtown area with its charming shops as well as our, beautiful gardens and cultural arts.
Hogansville had an interesting beginning that arose from the pre-Civil War plantation of William Hogan. Hogansville was created because there was a crossroads on Hogan's land of two important routes. In his grant of right-of-way, Hogan gave an additional 150 feet at the crossroad with the stipulation that a depot be built there. His foresight in his grant was the beginning of the town, long before it was incorporated in 1870. The depot has been rebuilt & restored since then and is now a restaurant and railroad museum.
The Hogansville Hummingbird Festival has been a tradition since 1998 and it grows every year. People from all over come to see the beautiful little birds. You can enjoy food, crafts, antiques, music and more during two days of family fun on our historic main street. Hogansville enjoys the hummingbirds all summer long and then we throw a party in their honor in October.
Whether you're coming for the history, the arts, the friendly people or the hummingbirds, you're certain to enjoy Hogansville and all it has to offer.
